“I first got to meet Bob Dylan at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool way back in 1965 and I knew then that I was in the presence of pure genius.
Bob Dylan, like all great artists, has given us reality in a genuinely new and original way. His songs echo with narrative clarity and that amazing voice is still best described as a mix of diesel and peach! As a painter and photographer I have taken hundreds of photographs of Dylan in concert over the past 3 decades - some published in John Gibben's book ' The Nightingales Code' - and I have painted many portraits of this most remarkable 'Renaissance' man (see 'expectingrain' exhibition site). His wonderful music is always with me. I finally just want to say.........thank you, Bob Dylan!”
